Your prospects are limited when you don't exist, but Sang Sorenson has been getting by as a cashier in a grocery store after dropping out of high school. Most days, she's just glad to have some independence, but she's been drifting through her life for two years, too alone to realize she's lonely. Then, late one Sunday night someone comes through her line with more apple pie than one man should be able to eat. The next day, she finds herself helping a young girl with a ...delicate purchase that the girl's older brother and his friend can't handle. And after a close call at home, she seeks help at a diner that recently opened down the street. It's been over a year since the Blackbourne team shattered into three separate teams, and they've all been dealing with the aftermath of a broken family. Though the new Lee and Taylor teams have done well for themselves, things just aren't the same. Then Sean stops by a little mom-and-pop grocery store after a long shift and discovers their bakery section. Kota and Nate take Jess bra shopping, and the cutest girl they've ever seen intervenes when they are less than helpful. And Luke finally meets someone who values pancakes as much as he does...possibly more. And it's barely even Tuesday. ~oOo~ This is a reverse harem fanfic based on C.L. Stone's Ghost Bird series. Be warned, I don't do trigger warnings on individual chapters and this is a Ghost Bird story: there is physical and emotional abuse, implied and overt; there are nine men interested in one woman (#whychoose) and sometimes each other; and the language used is appropriate for mature readers only. Not my circus, not my monkeys. I don't own any of these characters, The Academy, or Charleston, SC. I'm not making any money off of this. Liberties were taken with the legal and medical professions, but I tried to be as accurate as possible.

I only meant to stay out one night...I didn't think I'd be stepping into a whole new world.... This is fan fiction mashup of two of my favs...all credit of brilliance goes to CL Stone for her amazing Academy characters and Andrea Hosts Touchstone Series. I am not sure what else I am supposed to write in this Disclaimer...someone let me know if anything else needs to included for legality. I'm marking it mature for future scenes that may be inappropriate for readers under 18. Hope y'all enjoy my first attempt at writing fanfic.

Who ever said Patience is a Virtue? When you are young, that thought is just plain annoying. What does that phrase even mean? My Dad would say, "Patience is not the ability to wait, but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting." Waiting for what you ask? Waiting to get into college, waiting to get accepted into your major, waiting to graduate, waiting to find the right job, waiting on your boards to say you passed so you can start working, and waiting on marriage. That is my life. Waiting! My parents want to see me find the guy of my dreams and get married, just like all my siblings. My sister married her high school sweetheart. Both of my brothers found their wives during their Sophomore year in college. And here I am. I have just finished my junior year of college, I have already been asked by two different guys to marry them, obviously neither of them were the right guy, and all I have to say is... THE THIRD ONE BETTER BE THE CHARM! I know, stop yelling in your own head. It's just not pretty when you talk to yourself! Deep breath in... deep breath out. Remember, "Patience is a Virtue." Oh, by the way, my name is Brinnley Lewis, and this is my story.

What happens when 9 Academy guys take on a new assignment, then meet a girl that they all feel something for? Can they keep their minds on the job while keeping her safe. Can they keep their relationship together while they all fall for the same girl. Can she come to terms with her feelings, keep herself safe, help the boys with their job and maybe, just maybe find a happy ending for herself and 9 of the most wonderful guys she has ever met? *These characters belong to C.L. Stone. I do not take credit for them in any way. They are part of the Academy Ghost Bird series and I am merely borrowing them for my story. Special thanks to Brittany Olsen for the idea and awesome job as beta/editor!

Join Sang and the boys as she deals with life - and finds out the true meaning of putting family first. "Family first, they say. They think I am family. But did I think they were family? If I didn't, did that mean I could break the rules? Better yet, would it break the family?" I don't own any of C. L. Stone's stories or characters but I fell in love with them and am a big fan. This is my first fan fiction so we'll see how it goes. Please enjoy!
