Shane is 16 years old and moving to a new town with his mom after she escaped a bad marriage. Moving was hard enough in and of itself but once Shane learns about the grisly murder that happened in his new house years ago, he begins to doubt everything he previously thought he knew about ghosts.

"I'd say like... 30 percent of my thoughts are ones I recognize?" Shane said after careful consideration, idly tapping his lower lip. "I still care about you, my job, my parents... but I also seem to be caring about a lot of other things I never used to care about." "...Like what?" Ryan asked, softly. Shane and Ryan spend an almost sleepless night in the Haunted Home on Avery Court, earning it's name by being the 'haunted home' of an oddly friendly ghost, Olive Thomas. Paranormal conspirators have said to have witnessed Olive doing mundane activities around the house such as baking cakes and cookies, dancing to old show tunes, and attempting to get two ignorant ghostbusters to finally realise their feelings for one another. (Basically a Shane/Ryan story told through the perspective of a ghost in one of the houses they're investigating)

Shane and Ryan investigate some of the most haunted locations in Australia, starting with the Monte Cristo Homestead for the newest episode of Unsolved: Supernatural. Ryan believes the locations they visit are filled with the supernatural and Shane knows this but would never admit it to his friend if his (unholy) life depended on it.
