Esmerelda spent the school year dog-hunting after discovering the truth about the mortal side of her family during a 'visit' to the Underworld. Her summer vacation was spent trapped in a never-ending labyrinth where she was constantly dreaming of crawling inside a golden sarcophagus. All in all, she'd give this year a 3/10. BOOK THREE

𝐄𝐔𝐃𝐀𝐈𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐀 | Happiness, but better translated as "human flourishing"; to flourish by realizing one's ideal end or goal, by achieving the purpose of human life with excellence or virtue. In Ancient Greek theater, a Greek tragedy is a play where the protagonist is brought to ruin or suffers extreme sorrow. In real life, Esmerelda is that protagonist, but she's scarily determined to have her happy ending. Only thing standing in her way was the fact that she was in the middle of a war where she's probably going to lose 99% of her loved ones and maybe even her own life. Oh, and the end of the world might happen too.
