Soon after the initial blasts people realized the surface was no longer safe. They stayed down there and for the next 14 years the metro tunnels turned into small settlements, the last hope for humanity. The radiation mutated hundreds of animals creating new dangers never before seen in this world. With these new threats endangering the last of the human population.
