Sage Reinhart is gay. No one knows but his best friend since childhood, Wyatt Martin, and sadly, his tormentor from next door. He wants to keep it that way. Set in a small town, he'd rather not get stoned to death by the close minded folk that live there. Sage and Wyatt have lived across from each other since they were born. Best friends since they were in diapers. No, this is not a cliché "I'm in love with my straight best friend" sob story. This, is a story about Erin. Erin Moore, the tormentor from next door. Erin Moore, Sage's best friend's best friend. Erin and Sage have always been at each other's throats. Erin goes out of his way to tease and pick on Sage, even for the littlest trivial things, some things he can't even control, like his height for example. Sage always fights back with his witty remarks. It gets him knocked around most times, but it's satisfying enough to see the speechless look on Erin's face. Sage just wants a peaceful, Erin-free summer, but the world, and his parents love to make him suffer. Sage's parents want Erin's spark to rub off on their son's. Wyatt wants to put out the flame between his two best friends. And well, Sage just wants to light Erin on fire. As their fiery hate towards one another burn like a wildfire, tension rises beneath the smoke. And everything changes. And someone's bound to get burned.

"Alec, you're drunk and confused. You don't want this," he said, but didn't try to move away. I could feel his breath on my lips, only a few inches separating our bodies. I looked up at him, the dim lighting making his eyes the deepest midnight blue, and he was staring down at me. "I don't know what I want." Then I leaned in and kissed him.
