She's just turned eighteen-restless, curious, and far too aware of the man who's always been in the background of her life. He's her father's best friend-recently divorced, emotionally bruised, and old enough to know better. At a summer backyard barbecue, one accidental touch changes everything. A spark. A look. A moment neither of them can shake. What begins as tension builds into something dangerous-something they're both too scared to name. Because some lines should never be crossed. But some desires don't care. A slow-burn, age-gap romance wrapped in heat, heartache, and the ache of forbidden want. There was something about the town of Ganford that made people stay. Maybe it was the burnt orange skies of the desert, or the state route that stretched across it. Everybody knew everybody. Everybody had their secrets. Lily Campbell spent 22 years of her life learning them. Ganford made people predictable. Except for one man. Foster Harrigan came and went with the seasons. The Campbells have been family friends with Foster longer than Lily could remember. After years of silence surrounding the mysteries of the town, Lily digs deeper, only to continuously run into the man who secretly ran Ganford.

(This is not a fanfic) There are secrets that burn more than fire. For me the secret has a first and last name, not to mention he shares drinks with my father in the living room. And obsessive attraction consumed in secret, where every touch is a betrayal and every confession is made in whispers.
