The forest was still alive, but it's contents were not. I was running from walkers, popping out from every corner possible. Even within the early months of the outbreak, more that half the population was dead. I took out my knife and started slashing, taking down some walkers on the way. Then I saw Charlie pop out of the bushes. He ran towards the walkers and tackled them. Attacking walkers was what Charlie always does for me. Then a walker fell on top of me. The walkers teeth chopping centimeters from my face. Then, in the corner of my eye, I saw Charlie running full sprint. "Charlie, NO!" I yelled. But he didn't listen. Charlie tackled the walker off me. I quickly got up, and killed the reanimated state being. I caught me breath and looked at Charlie. "You could've got hurt. I said no." I said to him. "Ruff!" I chuckled and pet him. Then walkers popped out of the forest again. "Let's go." I said and ran off with him. By the way, Charlie's my dog.
