Sophomore biology. Not the best place to spend 45 minutes of my day, and definitely not the best class to spend it with. Nothing but silly boys and stuck up girls. Nothing against everyone in the room, I'm sure they love themselves, but I don't hang with this type of crowd. It's not my style; rich, glamorous, loved and gawked at. It's just not me. Sitting down I look and scan the room; 28 different auras with 28 different pulses and 28 different feelings emitting off 28 different people. Hell wrapped you inside four walls. Our teacher is a short little woman with brown hair and a little squatty build. She taps on the white board to grab the attention of the students but I've already plugged my headphones in and am well on my way to dissociating away from this hell. It's a skill I've learned very well. I drift off into the depths of my mind until it feels like I'm hanging above myself watching my body on autopilot. It might be unhealthy and extreme but it's the only way to dull out the mental agony this place puts me through. 2 minutes into class, 43 to go. ~~~~~~chapter one intro~~~~~~~~~ An impath named Raine has to find people like her when her father has an assassin sent after him for crossbreeding. Her life is about to turn completely upside down, and she isn't even aware that her father is hiding one of the biggest secrets of all. Who she is meant to be.

It was just a normal day to me. My parents didn't care. They didn't even try talking with me anymore. They basically started ignoring me when I could get myself food and pretty much take care of myself. They didn't even care if i was in my room at night anymore. Honestly I think they were waiting for the day that i got caught, and then they decided they had waited long enough. I came down for breakfast and as always there were three plates set. Mom, Dad, and Chrysanthium my younger, better sister. My mom didn't even look at me when i came down the stares. She hated my dark brown hair because my sister's was blonde like hers. She hated my Chocolate brown eyes because they weren't hazelnut perfection like hers. She hated my stark pale skin because i wouldn't go outside to get a tan like her. She hated me most though for being a Defect. A Defect is a child missing an ability. I am Deaf and she hated that the most. My younger sister Chrysanthium came down stairs and looked at the table and back at me and offered me a small smile. She then looked at my mom and walked straight past her, picked up her plate that Mom had set for her and sat it in front of me on the counter then proceeded to get herself a new plate.
