Brookkit is born into ThunderClan in late winter, and nearly starves. Yet she manages to pull through and become one of ThunderClan's best apprentices. As tensions increase between ThunderClan and RiverClan, and signs of a group of mysterious cats are found, Brookpaw must face a number of obstacles, the worst being Willowlight, a blood-thirsty RiverClan warrior. But when she finds herself locked into a dark plot, she realizes that she has made a terrible mistake, one that puts the future of every clan in danger. This is a short story that takes place during Shadows of Blood.
