For Carter Vance, popularity is a world that she has purposely distanced herself from for many years. Why feed in to the totally superficial, social hierarchy of high school? She's perfectly happy being an outsider. But when she's challenged to prove that anyone can be popular, she puts everything on the line to make a point - that popularity is as fickle and cliché as all the teen movies make it out to be. What she does instead is ruin her true friendships, hurt the only guy who has ever mattered, and dig herself a hole that's much more complicated than the plot of all of her favourite movies combined. {Book 1 in the Teenage Guide series}

Aliens invaded the Earth in 2011. Their intent was not to kill, but to enslave. Eva Moore was apart of the last spaceship sent to Earth to retrieve humans for enslavement. Stripped of everything, she is labeled as a number, 93-11 and assigned to field labor. While Eva struggles to embrace the life she fears she must live, a secret rebellion is going on behind the alien government's watchful eyes. Slaves are plotting protests and riots with hopes of freeing themselves. It's risky business, and Eva wants in. Unfortunately, the leader of the rebellion, Nat Cook (number 94-2), has a strong dislike of Eva and wants no part of her. Chemistry mixes as the two begin to realize that they need each other's help if this revolution is ever going to take action.

A/N: This is an unedited, significantly different version of the soon to be published novel by losangelesque aka L. Akhter. This draft was written when I was 15-18 years old and I highly encourage new readers to read the published version instead. Former high school football star Frank Novak meets profound and depressed loner Lolita Abri - and falls headfirst into love. Throughout the course of one school year, they unravel each other and their sadness, setting apart their differences and realizing that sometimes love isn't enough - and sometimes it just might be. if you could define life by color, life before Him was kinda pale. the days were pretty and pink, but there was no warmth to give it vibrancy or nothing. every day was basically the same and exhaustingly boring. His arrival brought not only new colors and vibrancy, but meaning to the ones i'd already known. i loved it, the months where things were good between us felt like he showed me a new way of life that was totally different from everything. he left, snatching the color back from me. i don't know how i'll find anything like that ever again, so i suppose i'll try suppressing the memories. even if it means i fade to gray.
