Ren is a 24-year-old software developer, juggling three remote jobs, five cats, one dog, and a long-term girlfriend with whom things have grown... complicated. She's not much for concerts, glitter, or fangirling-but when her teenage brother begs her to take him to a Dua Lipa concert in the city of Lirien, she finds herself swept into a night that unravels everything she thought she knew about herself.
Because Billie Eilish-yes, the Billie Eilish-sits beside her in the stands. And for reasons Ren doesn't understand, Billie starts talking to her. Just her. REN isn't a fan. She's not even sure who she is half the time-fem, masc, somewhere in-between. Add mild autism to the mix, and life already feels like coding a game without the instructions.
But Billie is magnetic, curious, and far too real to ignore. And as rumors swirl that Billie's tour might continue in Lirien the next night, Rowan is forced to confront more than just her crumbling relationship or confusing identity. She'll have to decide: play it safe with the life she built-or surrender to the chaos of something new.
A slow-burn, steamy, emotionally rich romance that starts with a glance and burns into obsession. For anyone who's ever questioned who they are, or who they're allowed to want.
About the Setting
The story takes place in Lirien, a fictional city invented specifically for the narrative. While all other countries and places in the story (like the USA, Canada, or European tour cities) remain real, Lirien allows for creative freedom without interfering with real-life tour dates or geographies. It's a mid-sized, culturally rich city with its own music scene and personality-just enough magic to make the impossible feel... believable.
