Two years after the war, a young stranger pays a visit to the burrow. His arrival alone is baffling, but the news he brings of an upcoming war turns the world upside down. Hermione's quiet, post-war life will never be the same.

All Hermione wanted to do was to return to Hogwarts and finish her education with a bang as Head Girl. After that, she had her whole life sorted out. She would work things out with Ron, work at the ministry, and become Minister for Magic one day. The universe, as usual, had other plans. Draco certainly wasn't expecting McGonagall to pick him as Head Boy but Harry Potter declined and as per usual, he was the second choice. Unsure what the people back in school had in store for then after all the Death Eater business they were involved in, he returns to Hogwarts with his friends to finish their education anyway. Neither one saw the partnership coming, nor the friendship forged between their two sides. They really didn't plan for any of it to happen - the law, the friendship or the love that changed both of them. This is a short fanfic based on J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. The story starts after the war, and Hermione is dating Ron, all while keeping her friendship with Ginny and Harry. She has a job at the ministry, and she becomes partners with Draco for work. Follow their romance with some unexpected bumps in this simple story. Hogwarts had been rebuilt and Headmistress McGonagall had accepted any 7th years from before the war to return if they wanted for their last year. Draco returned for reasons only known to him and his family, he was part Veela, and all this time he had known who his Mate was, but was selfish. He only wanted someone like him, but after the war He realized how awful it would be to have someone similar to him. As Half-Veela, his Veela senses were heightened emotions and feeling as if his heart could burst with joy whenever he saw her, but he had been able to control it and hide it until this year. Half Veela won't fully come into their 'inheritance' of being most like full Veela until their seventeenth year. It was his last year to get her to fall in love with him or he would die on his 18th birthday.

Voldemort has lost, and Draco is now forced to go back to Hogwarts for his last year as a student. Things don't go as planned, and he suddenly finds himself close and personal with one of his most hated enemies..
