Melissa Crawford thinks she's just a regular teenage girl. She goes to school. She has friends, boy problems, homework...you know, the typical teenage angst. But she couldn't be more wrong, for Melissa Crawford is not a mortal. Her adoptive mortal mother refused to give her up and hired a witch to erase the enchanting Faery child's memory, not realizing that things aren't that simple. You see, when she was a little girl, Melissa promised herself forever to her Leannan Sidhe (mate), a Fae Prince, and a promise to Fae is sacred. When the Fae Prince comes back to claim what's his, nothing will get in his way. "Mortals are so arrogant. So utterly narcissistic to think that they are the only intelligence in this world, to believe their realm is the only realm, their way is the only way. "Many of you believe us fairies only exist in little kids' fairy tales. We are so much more than that. We exist, living in the Realm just a blink away from yours. A few wrong turns in the park or the forest and you're there. We sometimes walk among you, and you're not even aware of it. Believe me, we exist. Across the globe, your kind calls us and our realm by different names...but as William Shakespeare once said- a rose by any other name..."

At twenty-five and still unmarried, she has experienced more than one could ever endure in a life time -the brutalities of war, pain, grief, and heartbreak. Having fled from the war-ridden North-Eastern Nigeria, she and her parents are forced to start life from the scratch in one of the capital city's Area Councils. Despite how professional she appears to be, her past still hunts her and her only life goal is to live a peaceful life. Suraj Ahmad Suraj, an aristocratic medical doctor, has everything he has ever dreamt of. A good job, wealth, and a beautiful fiancée to show off. Though he has his own personal battles, he believes his life is quite perfect. This little perfection, however, was marred when a plain, yet sophisticated 'refugee' woman steps in, and forced Suraj to do a double take at his life. Despite their differences and the little resentment they hold against each other, Suraj and Azizah are forced to work together; both of them however, unaware, unprepared, and unexpectant of the adventures, challenges, as well as the tragedy that lay ahead of them... I was in a dark place with no one to hear my cries, I screamed but the sound just echoed into a far distance The pain was unbearable from almost every part of my body especially around my thighs and my hands, my head also hurt I cried into the darkness but no one was there, I prayed and prayed till I found myself slowly slipping out of that world till I was met with blinding light Opening my eyes I looked around to the blank walls made of plain cement blocks, no paint or anything and so was the ground it looked like an uncompleted building but what bothered me the most was what I was in Was it the pain or the wetness I was feeling, i mustered up the courage and raised my pounding head looking up at my wide-spread legs and the pool of blood I was laying in I couldn't cry nor scream just fall back into the dark world I was recently in with one thought in mind What every woman kept and treasured the most was taken away from me.
