(Book one of the rollercoaster love series) This is my take on the cliche (albeit awesome) football & cheerleader, best friend's brother, boy next door, bad boy & good girl, high school love story. *"Just being with you helps me," he whispered. He ran the back of his hand along my cheek. He leaned down and softly put his lips on mine. I put my hand on his cheek. I kissed him back for a moment before pulling away from him. I leaned my forehead against his. "I'm sorry." "No it's not that. We don't kiss when one of us isn't clear headed, that's the rule." "We have rules now?" he asked. I nodded. He hugged me tighter and laid his head against my shoulder. "What are our rules?" "We don't kiss when one of us isn't clear headed." He nodded and put one finger on my thigh. "We uh we don't kiss other people." He put a second finger on my thigh. "We don't take our anger out on each other." he kissed my shoulder and put a third finger onto my thigh. "We don't go further than kissing." he chuckled putting a fourth finger down. "And when we figure out what we want, we have to tell the other." His hand was now on my inner thigh. "And that's five."* This is the story of two childhood best friends. Leia Evans, the good girl, the head cheerleader, the girl every girl wants to be, the girl every guy wants to get with, and his corazón. And Nick Torres, the bad boy, the star wide receiver, the guy every guy wants to be, the guy every girl dreams of being with, and her brother's best friend.

"Curiosity killed the kitty Miss Adams." My body stiffened. Slowly I turned around just to see Mr. Parker standing in front of me with hands in his trouser pockets. I bit my lip. I thought he would be angry but when I looked at him. His face showed no emotion. He then started walking towards me I moved back. This continued until my back hit the door. Then he placed his one hand on my side, leaning forward, close to me. "What was rule number three Miss Adams." His face was extremely close to mine my breath got hitched. I couldn't answer his question why? Because I was more focused in the distance between us. "I asked you something Miss Adams." He said again. "T-That t-there a-are prohibited areas i-in the house where I shouldn't g-go." "It seems like you remember the rules. This room is one of those prohibited areas. So, from next time think before you put yourself into trouble." I just stared at his eyes. I was lost in those pair of sea-coloured eyes. No other guy has ever affected me this much as Mr. Parker. I get nervous around him. I don't know what this feeling is but this feeling is different. A feeling that I have never felt for anyone. "Understood?" he said again. I nodded. Completed. ☼ " Her denial, that was like a dam holding back a flood of feeling, of sweet relief for desperate soil, holding back a flood it stood no chance against, as yet another crack formed with a strong wave that already knew it had won. On the other side Marley stood, watching her dam's inevitable, impending destruction - fearing, knowing, that quenching her aching thirst would be synonymous with drowning, would be synonymous with coming up for air, would be synonymous with surrendering to a force of nature that was beautiful in all its calm, but terrifying in all its chaos. He absentmindedly tucked a loose flyaway behind her ear. Right then. Another crack in her last line of defence. Another rolling back of a wave, gaining strength, beating against the tired concrete. Another overflow rolling above the wall, droplets racing to sink into her every vulnerable place. Another enigma - still being afraid, while watching the water, and feeling the ache " ☼ Praise for 'Camp Where The Hell Are We?'
