As soon as Wario turned everyone exept Shadow, Chloe, Sophia and Clover to ashes, he banished Shadow from even entering anywhere near the cities, towns or the castle, so he's ended up having to live with the others in the forest, vulnerable to attack....but could Shadow defeat Wario and bring the castle back?
