Sonic and the gang are back in High School and are going on a camping trip - mandatory to graduate from grade 12. Shadow and his friends Maria the hedgehog, Rouge the bat and Rock the unicorn are constantly butting heads with Sonic and his friends Knuckles the echidna, Amy the hedgehog and Tails the fox (who is now magically the same age as the others. Shhhh....). All the while Sonic and Shadow must hide their feelings from everyone around them - including each other. When he kidnaps her for himself, he must keep her from escaping back to her castle, while she fights her feelings for him to remain loyal to her. After finding out about a romantic myth, an intrigued Rouge persuades Shadow to take part in it by tying a little red string around his finger. The hedgehog, despite considering it nothing but a silly fairy tale, goes along with it. To his surprise, the myth may not be as ridiculous as he first thought.

Amy is a noble who's in love with her betrothed Sonic, however Sonic isn't really one for the married life. Amy, now left alone on the dance floor, is swept away off her feet by a stranger behind a mask. This one dance changes everything, this stranger's arms around her feels so familiar and she feels so safe. Who is this Masked Stranger? And why does it feel so right to be with him?
