Starting senior year at a brand new school was never part of Layla Mills' plan.
She expected awkward introductions, finding her way around campus, and trying to fit in before graduation. What she didn't expect was meeting Sophia Barton - the first person who makes her feel like she belongs.
But becoming Sophia's new best friend comes with one major problem: her twin brother, Malachi Barton.
Malachi is charming, confident, and somehow manages to annoy Layla within seconds of being around him. He's used to people wanting his attention, but Layla is the one person who doesn't seem impressed by him at all.
To Layla, he's arrogant. To Malachi, she's impossible.
With every argument, sarcastic comment, and forced group hangout, the two become determined to prove they're nothing alike. But somewhere between the rivalry, the late-night conversations, and the moments they accidentally start caring, their hatred begins to feel a lot less like hate.
Because sometimes the person you can't stand is the person you never expected to need.
