Tate Langdon, a 17 year old teenage boy, moves into the 'murder house' with his mother constance after a horrific past. Tate, a weak, vulnerable human, being tortured by his past, enters the murder house on thin ice. The souls prey on people like tate, so tate needs a protection. A protecter. Who might that be? Violet.

Tate is still waiting for Violet to forgive him, so when a boy dies in the murder house Tate loathes him, but soon realizes that Violet still loves him, and isn't after the newly dead guy.
