It's tough being on your own in the nation of Caelum when you're a child. You have to fend for yourself in an unforgiving world of pirates, moral-less thieves and murderers, and airborne islands that spell death the moment you fall off one of them. It's even tougher being somebody who everyone and their aunt wants to either kill or capture for a prize, all because you can, to put it simply and literally, "make magic happen." But do you know what's even tougher than all of that? Being both of those along with having no memory of any of it along with every last shred of your past, even your last name. So my name is Loto, and welcome to my world. Steven Stone: Champion of the Hoenn region, Mega Evolution user, and avid stone collector. Although no one knows his past, or how he even came to be Champion, behind every gem lies an untold tale of formation... Nine years before the Hoenn Primal Crisis, a younger Steven Stone has been forced to study for most of his life to prepare for becoming the next president of the Devon Corporation. His entire life changes when he receives Meteor, a Beldum with companionship to offer and more than enough to say about it. Once the duo take part in and win their first battle, Steven realizes that he's meant to be a Pokémon Trainer and eventually leaves home. Not long into his travels, Steven encounters an organization of people with twisted morals and an even more twisted way of expressing them. It doesn't take long to discover what they want- him. With assistance from Meteor, a few new allies, and an intriguing girl named Arietta, Steven can only hope he's able to elude capture so the organization won't ensure the downfall of not only the Devon Corporation, but potentially Hoenn itself. Kate is an introvert often seen as weak for her size, so she overcompensates by burying herself in books to build up on her knowledge rather than her muscle. Although, a brash idiot named Keith doesn't really understand that, and he believes that strength is the only way to truly succeed at being a Pokemon Ranger: a protector of the Pokemon and people of this world. Despite their overwhelming, polar-opposite personalities and very different ideals, an unlikely, yet successful partnership blossoms between the two on their adventures, and maybe even something more. There exists a power that has dwelled in the land of Hyrule for countless millennia. It is the power that helped create the land, one that is coveted by many. Every few thousand years, three people are fortunate-or perhaps unfortunate-enough to receive it. And in the current era, the three have been bestowed this power once again. A sharp-tongued thief who insists on running from his past despite hating that concept, a headstrong heiress who loves myths and legends but doesn't expect to be swept up in one herself, and a desperate king who just wishes for him and his people to be respected. One welcomes their power, one despises it, and one depends on it for their survival. But no matter the circumstances of how they came about their power, each of these people has to ask themselves this question: "Are you truly worthy?" •I don't own the images and music tracks used for this story's chapters

As I write this letter to you, all I have to say is... I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I lied to all three of you. Living a life of lies has taught me that it comes with a price, and now I'm paying it. My name IS Rena Deveraux; that wasn't a lie. But I never wanted to be a Ranger... That's not why I was at the Ranger School. I am so, so sorry that I lied to you, but the truth is... I'm a thief. And you...you were my assignment, and I was to think of you as nothing more than that. It wasn't personal, I promise you. It was just business. I thought I could outrun the law my whole life and never get caught. Never did I once think that the law applied to me, or that my actions would catch up to me one day. It never crossed my mind...not even once. I was so confident, which made my downfall inevitable. I left my back turned for one second and I lost it all. No words can describe the feeling I get when I look at your face... That look of pain, and sadness... Your eyes are filled with nothing but hate and disdain when they meet my gaze. Honestly, I'm surprised that you haven't killed me for what I've done to you. I'm afraid this is the end, and I will never see you again. You can hate me for the rest of your life. I understand... What I did to you is unforgivable, and I don't deserve your forgiveness. I don't deserve to see your smile ever again. My biggest regret is that I will never get to properly say good-bye to you. So, I must do it in this letter. Good-bye, my Prince Charming. I will never forget you. Take care of Rhythimi and Isaac for me, and please...apologize to them on my behalf, since I can't do it myself. Oh, and one more thing, Keith. Assuming that you didn't just tear this letter up upon receiving it, I just wanted to say... I've told you a lot of lies since the moment we first met... But my feelings for you were never one of them. {Pokémon Ranger Shadows of Almia fanfiction; cover art was just photoshopped by me}
