Satyani is a Daemon, renown for her murderous tendencies and her talent with knives. Lorelei is proud to call herself an Angel, though only an apprentice. She is virtuous and kind without question, and she dreams of becoming a dancer. Both Satyani and Lorelei are chosen to take on a dangerous quest, to find a powerful Artifact and return it to their respective clans. But, there's a catch: they have to disguise themselves as mortals until they find the Artifact, and they can't let anyone know of their identities. One more thing complicates the matter: Lorelei and Satyani feel a dangerous attraction to each other, one they can't deny - an attraction that might destroy them.
