Highest Rank #61 Mum was struggling to breathe, her legs kicking hard as they shuffled on the floor. I pulled on dad's hands which gripped mum's neck but he was quick to nudge me with his shoulder, forcing me to stagger, hitting my head on the wall. Tiny white stars danced before my eyes as quick darkness closes in on me. Mum was gasping. Dad hasn't let go. I staggered up, my eyes clearing off a little as I rushed to dad. Glancing at mum, her pupils were dilating, the white part of her eyeballs slowly taking over completely. Dad's eyes were bloodshot with no emotions whatsoever registered in them. Mum's kicks were slowing down with her hand slowly losing grip. I screamed and bite into dad's hands, chewing as though I was hungry for meat. The metallic taste of blood trickled into my mouth but I didn't let go as I bit harder. All his efforts to push me away were in vain as I kept my gaze on mum, every slow kick she gave urging me to bite in more. Then dad let go. And mum's body slumped. Sprawling on the floor like a bunch of weak leaves. I let go off dad's hand and rushed to her. No pulse. No heartbeat. ****** This emotional fiction gives it's readers an opportunity to peek into the life of a pained woman and her struggles to survive when abandoned by a man she's ever loved. ****** African society has given men so much control over women. No matter what a woman accomplishes in life, once she's not under a man, she's seen as utter useless.... Religion, society and family have subconsciously compelled African women into accepting everything including domestic violence as long as the 'Mrs' title is retained. Many women have lost their lives through physical and emotional abuse. They stay put in abusive relationships cos most are afraid to bear the tag "divorcee", so they rather die than leave. Most African men are proud cheats, with the excuse that "men are polygamous in nature". Sadly, women are the most supporters of this false ideology.

COMPLETED!!! Abuja - the city of power and secrets. Zayd Ibrahim Khalil leaned against the hood of his Mercedes, the engine still purring, though he wasn't going anywhere. He scrolled absently through his phone, notifications piling in from friends, half the girls in Abuja, and half-hearted invitations to exclusive parties. His thumb hovered, pausing at a recent blog post headline: "If you like make your papa be minister, this babe no really send you!" The picture beneath it showed him -face frowned, mid-rant and her, calm and unwavering, staring him down like he was nothing more than a storm she refused to be swept away by. She wasn't like the others. She didn't care about who his father was, or how much his car cost, or that he'd graduated from one of the best tech universities in Dubai. She didn't want his attention and that only made him want hers even more. Amina "Amal" Muhammad. Final year Petroleum Engineering student. Youngest of her circle. The one whose eyes didn't just look, they saw. The one whose veil wasn't just fabric, it was conviction. He clenched his jaw. "She thinks she's above it all," he muttered. But beneath his arrogance, something twisted in his chest an ache he didn't want to name. It wasn't just rejection. It was something deeper. Something dangerous. Somewhere across town, Amal sat with her journal open, the words flowing like prayers. "He's everything I was taught to stay away from... but somehow, I keep seeing him everywhere I go." Neither of them knew it yet, but this was no ordinary clash of personalities. This was the beginning of a firestorm. One fueled by pride and mystery, the other by power and faith. This was the moment where love first struck... not gently, but like lightning.
Veiled behind it all secrets, ambition, pain, and the possibility of redemption. And neither of them would come out untouched. Rankings No.1 Naija Stories- 3rd August 2025 No. 2 Arewa Stories- 3rd August 2025 No.1 billionaireson- 7th August 2025

Pulse of Forever In the vibrant chaos of Lagos-Summaiya is drowning in expectation. Medical school demands everything: her mind, her time, her soul. But nothing drains her more than the presence of one man. Professor Muktar Abdullahi. Young. Surgeon. Authority. Confidence. Discipline. brilliant. feared. untouchable. His words cut sharper than his scalpel. His eyes? Cold enough to freeze a room. No one dares get close. No one even tries. He's the man whose silence drowns out entire lecture halls. Whose precision in the operating room borders on brutal. Whose eyes never stray-but when they do, they linger. She hates how she feels on edge around him. Then the unthinkable happens-life pulls her into his world, not as student and professor, but something more intimate. Unspoken. Unnatural. A closeness that neither acknowledges, but both endure. In the quiet moments between them, something sharp begins to shift. A question without form, an ache without name. Is he still the same cold, unreachable professor? Or is there something under the surface-fractured, tender, hers? As secrets press in and old wounds whisper from the past, Summaiya finds herself unraveling everything she thought she knew about love, about duty, and about the man who shouldn't bother her-but somehow does. Pulse of Forever is a haunting, emotionally charged love story of restraint, redemption, and the quiet war between two hearts still learning how to beat-as one.

He placed the wine glass on the table and shifted his gaze to me, "It's a deal." His face broke into a small smile as he stretched his hand out to me. Hesitantly, I shook his. "Oh please," I rolled my eyes at him. "I should be the one saying that," I scoffed. The smirk he had on his face, faded into a light frown. "Just to get it out there, Ms Pearl. You are not my type."
