even in the pitch black forest, i could still make out his figure. tall, pale and slender with a look of hunger in his eyes. i knew what he was. he wasn't anything normal, no, he wasn't even human. he was something else, something different. something that shouldn't exist in today's world. my mother would read me bedtime stories about creatures like him. and when i would weep, she would tell me it was all a myth, a story to scare little kids. i understand why she lied to me; to protect me. he slowly approached me with a smirk on his lips, aware of my knowledge. "you should be afraid... afraid of me. imagine all the things i could do to you. i could break your neck in the blink of an eye and you wouldn't feel a thing." "i'm not afraid of you. you wouldn't dare lay a finger on me, i know. i know what you are, jimin." his grey eyes glowed and his face became harden and cold like i just had hit a nerve. "if you know what i am, then say it. i want to hear it roll off the tip of your tongue." i wasn't sure what game he was playing at, but i played it anyways. with a lump in my throat, like a piece of food had gone down the wrong pipe, i spoke. "you're a vampire." he smiled wide, his teeth perfectly aligned and his skin sparkling as he stepped closer to me underneath the moonlight. he crooked his neck to the side, examining my bare neck. he carelessly moved my hair to the side, whispering in my ear, "no, babygirl, i'm not. i'm a monster, and you know what monsters like me do? they hunt down their prey and feast on it until there's nothing left."
