In Usnavi's junior year he finds out he has a long lost twin brother named Alexander who has been an orphan since he was born Alex is 17 and has been a victim of a horrible hurricane that destroyed his town and his former foster family. Abelua takes Alex in without hesitation, she welcomes him in with open arms like he has been there his whole life. Now Usnavi has to adjust with having a family again and does not know how to do that since he has only had Abelua, Sonny and Benny since his parents died. Alex is scared of the situation also, ever since he was alive he has been the sad foster child bouncing from house to house, family to family. Alex does not know if this is just another house he will live in for a month or if this will be his forever home. In the place of Washington Heights Usnavi plans to protect Alex with the help of his best friend Benny and younger Cousin Sonny as the all go through a horrible thing called high school.
