Yarrowkit is born into ShadowClan alongside his sisters Moonkit and Frostkit, to a mother who is full of secrets and far from loving, and Yarrowkit will soon discover that there is a price to be paid for secrets kept. The fallout of his mother's mistakes takes Yarrowkit far from home, when he is whisked away by his father. Yarrowkit feels out of place in his new home, and no matter the struggles or changes he makes, he never feels as though his paws are on the right path. His Clanmates call him many things- outsider, traitor, bastard child- and he is left to wonder: will he ever know who he truly is, and where it is he belongs? Warning: This story will delve into topics that aren't usually addressed in Warriors stories, such as adultery, mild sexism, mentions of abuse (mostly emotional but possibly physical), and of course mild language (like "bastard" as seen in the description). If any of these topics trigger you or make you uncomfortable, you should avoid this 'fic because I will not be putting warnings in the individual chapters. None of these topics (except maybe the cursing) will be given a positive light in any way, and for the most part they will remain subtle, so unless you're very sensitive to them it shouldn't be a problem.

Ever since she was a young kit, all Larkpaw has wanted to do was to help her Clanmates. Thus, it seems an obvious choice to become the medicine cat apprentice. From her first night as an apprentice onward, however, the young cat is haunted by disturbing dreams of battle and bloodshed. Perhaps these visions mean that she chose right, becoming ThunderClan's bridge between the living and their warrior ancestors, but she can't help but wonder if the path she's chosen is truly the best way to serve her Clanmates. When all-out war breaks out between her Clan and one of the others who share its borders, her faith and loyalty in StarClan, her Clanmates, and herself are truly put to the test. ----- This fanfiction is based on some of the very first WARRIORS characters and plots I- and one of my close friends- came up with after getting into the series many years ago. While the originals were perhaps not the most well thought-out or intriguing in the world (or even among WARRIORS fanfiction), they actually weren't horrible, and with some tweaking I managed to make it into a decent story. Thus, this fanfiction is a callback to simpler times- the old forest where dead cats stayed dead, living cats stayed in their borders (mostly), no one had powers, medicine cats actually CHOSE to be medicine cats, and not everything happened because of a prophecy probably (definitely) revolving around ThunderClan. That said, I feel as though I should apologize that this story takes place mostly within ThunderClan; I considered changing it, but I felt that switching Clans would not be true enough to the original stories and characters (as bland and childish as they may have been). I do hope, however, that I've managed to make ThunderClan a BIT less Sue-y and unlikeable. All that said, thank you for reading!
