"They say that 'Forgiveness' is something that is earned through atonement of one's 'Sins'.... I don't think I will ever earn mine." ... At the peak of the war between the 'Cardinal Races', during probably the bloodiest battle to date between the magical factions that fought for sole dominance over the massive continent of Akaedis, a surge of dark flames appeared in the sky above, piercing through the fog of smoke covering the battlefield. These sparks erupted violently, tearing the sky asunder — and from this fiery 'gateway', fell a being of unholy power and destruction. Seeing the giant form descend from the sky caused a momentary still between the warring forces as they gazed up in awe, the centuries worth of hatred vanishing and replaced with bewilderment. Who did this power belong to? It was a magic they have never seen before, so pointing a finger at which race to have conjured such a tiding force was left impossible. Even the most famous tales of ancient mages performing miraculous feats like causing tempests that raged over an area for days on end or parting the very sea sounded like child's play in comparison to what they witnessed. This being crashed upon the land with a scorching fury, engulfing everything in a sea of dust that covered the sun. This would be the last these soldiers would come to see of the 'Herald' before they were buried alive underneath molten ash. When the dust finally settled, the sheer power of his presence alone was made definite. Those who watched from afar could only stare grimly at the sight that befell their eyes, the planet around them changed forever. This was the beginning of the end, the 'Unholy Apocalypse'. ...
