Cosa succederebbe se l'ultimo capitolo "19 anni dopo" non esistesse, e il trio tornasse a Hogwarts per l'ultimo anno di studi? Cosa succederebbe se Voldemort avesse un'altra, ultima occasione di tornare? Se vi manca Harry Potter, se avete riletto i libri 38252 volte, riguardato i film fino a procurarvi il vomito e non sapete più cosa fare per colmare il vuoto che la Rowling ha lasciato nella vostra vita, allora siete nel posto giusto. Sto cercando di imitare il più possibile il suo stile di scrittura, di rispettare personalità e carattere dei personaggi e di far combaciare la trama con quella dei sette libri ufficiali per far sì che questo sembri, a tutti gli effetti, un ottavo libro. Ad Hogwarts c'è una cosa che tutti devono sapere e cioè che io, Lily Evans, mai uscirò con un egocentrico pallone gonfiato come Potter. Essendo questo un argomento risaputo e superato nessuno nutre più dubbi e, di conseguenza, nessuno solleva più obiezioni. Ma non tutti rinunciano alla balorda idea che io, studentessa modello con una pagella da far invidia a Merlino, possa uscire con Potter e, il primo a credere è ciò è proprio Potter in persona.
