1957 Liverpool. It's summer, and Wendy is new to town. Out with her little brother one afternoon, she runs into a boy that doesn't really strike her fancy, and then another one that does. And teddy girl Wendy, is up for the challenge that is John Lennon.

We are both lonely people, living lonely lives, without anyone to really understand, except each other,"" When 17 year old Rosie Carlson decides to live with her father in Liverpool, she figures her life will calm down from its earlier craziness. But when she goes to Quarry Bank High School for the first time, she ends up accidentally tripping the biggest jerk at the school, 17 year old John Lennon. At first, it seems that Rosie will be made fun of every day of her life for the school year, yet that all changes when John becomes her partner in a school project. She gains a secret that makes the pain worth it. But not everything turns out as perfect as wanted. Then again, Rosie is just a lonely person, living a lonely life.

It's late 1964, 7 years after Rosie Carlson was with John, and she hasn't heard from him since. There never came a letter, no matter how many times she tried to get a response, and she is still trying to hear from him, sending John letters every time she can. Doing her best to move on, which is hard to do, Rosie works most of her days, living in a crappy little flat in London. Francis, her best friend and the one she met at her work, has been her outlet of her sadness, yet he's hoping to be something more, and she's not saying no. Rosie almost begins to feel she can live without John, she has before, but that changes when a regular customer, with a secret, comes in one day, leaving something for her, and everything is flipped upside down for better, and for worse.

But one chance encounter and that is all that is set to change... I originally wrote this short story in 2004. It could do with a little re-write I think, (which I may do one day!) and it's a bit rough round the edges, so any feedback would be gratefully received!
