During the first year at UA, Midoriya's mother is killed in a villain attack so he is forced to go to the states to live with his father. Only 0.5% of the population are nekos, jus to see a Neko is extremely rare, they're usually encaged and used at test subjects, or even kept in zoos. So the Neko population has dropped expediently and is very close to extinction. Nekos are humans with cat characteristics. Ears, tail, heats, senses, agility, flexibility and ect.
