Asta was special, he always knew it. They say he has no magic yet he could do curses. The curses weren't very strong he had found them in some old book while he was bored. He never expected to them to work. Especially not to get a grimoire filled with the brim of curses he never heard of.

Power is good. You can protect the ones you hold dear. Or cut down the ones who get in your way. But... Power can be lonely.. This is a world where one can not be saved.

Asta knew people cared about him, but he couldn't help it. He watched others do magic, and hated the feeling of jealousy that swelled in his gut. He decided to end it all.

Asta is an orphan at the church of Hage Village in the Forsaken Realm of the Clover Kingdom. But what no one knows is that he is the son of a female demon and a human with strange magic. Asta has inherited his mother's ability to summon creatures called 'grimm' and his father's magic, called magic armory. Asta's father was a treasure hunter who went into dungeons to find magic items. Asta is thought to not have magic, but during the grimoire ceremony, a grimoire came to him and two scrolls to go with it, which unleashes his magic. The scrolls turn out to be what was left of his parent's grimoires, they both used a spell to seal their spells into the scrolls and when Asta gains his grimoire, the scrolls react and mesh with his grimoire, giving him his parents' magic and items.

Asta has always been treated poorly in Hage only because he couldn't use magic. And it was even worse because the one he was found with at the church had enormous mana compared to him. All his life, Asta has been laughed at for not having any magic powers. He had been told that his dream for becoming the Wizard King was unrealistic. Yuno was praised while Asta was left with humiliation. Filled with anger and hate for everyone, Asta finally received his Grimoire; the Five-Leaf Clover Grimoire.
