The noise of a gunshot reverberated in their ears and rang out through the motel. The pain flashed unexpectedly through his body. It felt like someone was ripping him apart. Patrick Jane felt his body hitting the ground and whimpered out in pain. He didn't know what got over him when he threw his body in front of Lisbon.

As Jane walked abandoned on the empty streets of Sacramento, he thought about the woman he loved, admired and wanted to share the rest of his life with.
