Sam and Sage are next-door neighbors with an almost-four-year strong rivalry that peaks when they both apply to be Professor Olekev's Research Assistant. Unlike other professors, Olekev only chooses one student to study under her for their last two semesters, and every student that does transitions from college to the workforce seamlessly. You're almost guaranteed your dream job with a recommendation letter from Olekev. Which is why Sam needs that letter. And he'll do anything to get it. Even share the position with his stupidly pretty arch nemesis. ( © saeglopur )

Dresden and Calvin are lucky enough to have had not one, but two, beginnings. They're beginning again, or maybe they're picking up where they left off five years ago. Either way, this is their "Take II" and absolutely nothing will get in the way of that. Except maybe a global pandemic.

Dresden Gibson never left. But that's not the story he's telling. [sequel to The Art of Moving On] It's five years later, and though time has a way of making all pain feel less prominent, the pain that sits right under Dres's ribcage, the one tied to the buried words, and regret like a cold sweat on his palms, hasn't changed at all. Hasn't subsided or dulled throughout the years. Dresden regrets a lot of things. He'll never regret anything more than the way he ended his relationship with Cas those years ago. That's a pain, he thinks, he'll carry with him always. So he keeps the letters, and the memories; he lets them plague him on the long nights because it's what he deserves. When the opportunity arises to make things right, Dres takes it. He owes Cas that much. Even if the boy who's heart he broke years ago doesn't want a single thing to do with him. (And he doesn't)

Calvin Sumner is just trying to find a job, pass his classes, get into college, and maybe kiss a few boys if he can manage it. He never thought he'd find himself working in a cupcake cafe, or falling in love with his brooding, ex-military boss who has more tattoos than he has words to give. But Cas isn't going to complain. Not when he's finally making some money, doing well in his courses, has a pretty good sports scholarship in his future, and gets to kiss Dresden Gibson as much as he wants (and he wants to, a lot). Simon Love is maybe a bit of a dick. He's smart, but he's lazy, and he doesn't know how to live without his mom's meatloaf and at least 4 different investment accounts. After graduating from college, he can't bring himself to leave the comfort of his hometown, so when the newest tech giant, TechNet, plants its HQ roots in his very own Baker, Ohio, Simon knows this must be fate. And when TechNet brings in a local architect to draw up plans to spruce up the building, Simon can't help but notice his construction crew. More specifically, the tall twenty-something wearing a canvas tool belt, a beat-up Sox hat, and a small, heart-stopping smile that has the entire office talking. And it seems like Simon is the only one who doesn't know why.

Skylar Hall can't remember a single time in his life that he has had his shit together. His brother, Jessie Hall, is the complete opposite. The guy is outgoing, has excellent grades, and tons of friends. Of course, Skylar has friends too, but they have a tendency to get him into trouble. Jessie has good friends. Well, except one. His best friend, Ashton Rivera. That guy sucks, Skylar can't remember a single time in his life he could stand him. He just loves to get a rise out of Skylar, loves to piss him off to no end. The fact that they hooked up once is his main ammunition, and it drives Skylar insane. The things he'd do for that guy to leave him alone for good. Skylar, on the other hand, is an addict with absolutely no self preservation and far too many enemies to count. He gets horrible grades, and participates in even worse stunts for his friend's channel online. He is basically injured at all times, and has racked up enough money in hospital bills for his dad-Mayor Vince Hall-to finally get fed up. So, after a series of bad choices, Skylar is told that one more incident will result in him being kicked out of the house. He doesn't take the threat all that seriously, until Jessie-his only protection-is accepted into a college hours away and will be leaving him. That guy vouching for him is basically the only reason that Skylar's dad has put up with his least favorite son's shenanigans all these years. So, the threat starts to feel more real. Then, it happens, and the only person left for Skylar to rely on is Ashton Rivera-who he begins to realize has some serious secrets. Secrets not even Jessie knows. Secrets that become Skylar's new mission to investigate every detail of. - [!!WARNINGS!! This book will deal with serious topics such as addiction and crime. It was somewhat inspired by my book Stalemate so it will hold some similarities to that as well! Also there's probably going to be a decent amount of violence and even more sexual content.]

Shannon Cole has always survived by noticing what others miss. Numbers stick. Faces linger. Conversations don't fade. In the hood, that kind of mind doesn't stay unnoticed-it gets used. Shannon has become a quiet resource, passed between crews whenever something needs remembering, calculating, or confirming. He tells himself it's temporary. Just helping. Just staying afloat. Until everyone wants him. As gangs begin circling closer, access to Shannon turns into competition-and then into risk. Because when too many people want what you know, someone eventually decides you're too valuable to share. Tiger Laurent doesn't compete. He decides. Tiger runs things with calm precision, and when he claims Shannon, it isn't curiosity-it's control. Pulled out of circulation and placed under Tiger's watch, Shannon finds himself safer than he's ever been-and more trapped than he imagined possible. Protection blurs into possession. Use starts to feel permanent. And the more indispensable Shannon becomes, the harder it is to tell whether he's being kept alive... or quietly erased.
