Christopher Vespertilio Pierre- a knife thrower at a local, year-round carnival. He's well known for his cold and distant attitude, as well as his arguably attractive appearance. He was always the type to push others away, only interacting with others when he absolutely has to. But that changes when he meets the show's newest performer- a young woman named Kitsune. Kitsune is a shy young woman, who isn't entirely human. Her large black horns and completely purple left eye hint at her being something completely different. Though... Despite her abnormalities, Christopher can't help but to be rather curious of the young and fair lady.

In the early 1900s, we have (Y/n) (L/n), a girl only ordinary to the era, having to act ladylike while dealing with her two trying siblings and the dread that comes with her near coming-of-age. A carnival has come, along with madness and distortions. She meets a handful of new people, each more interesting than the people she usually sees. She has a dislike for normality, but are the eccentricities of the world always a good thing? Is it weird and isolated for a reason that no one at the top of their head can explain? Will (Y/n)'s curiosities be the reason for tragedy, or ever-lasting love? After being kicked out by her strict, uncaring mother, Kitsune asks Chris if she can stay with him. Chris, being the good friend he is, allows her to stay for as long as she needs. During her stay, he realizes a lot of trauma has been inflicted onto her- which he picks up more and more of with each passing day. Upon realizing this, he attempts to help her with copious amounts of repressed feelings. Her trauma isn't the only thing he realizes, however. He also soon realizes that certain feelings had started to take place. Will they continue to just be roommates, or will they become something more?
