Derek's twin brother Tyler stayed in the shadows. It wasn't like he was a psychotic werewolf running around like Peter. He didn't like being in the spotlight like Derek did. Tyler became Stiles' best friend seeing as Derek acted like he hated the hyperactive spaz. Tyler was at Stiles side before Derek could ever even think about it, Derek at the time had other things to think about like a pack, Tyler was going to make sure Stiles was taken care of.
