He believed it at some point, but beliefs are meant to crumble. When his quirk showed, he never expected the world to finally turn on him. His mother tossed him out. He was sold on the market for years. Even left alone unless placed on display for the onlookers within the black market. Fourteen years he was secluded from reality, twisted into truly believing he was nothing more than a mere pet to be bought and sold. He believed he had no purpose in life.
