"It is forbidden for a reason, young one. Love makes you weak, a fraction of yourself. It keeps you from being the best you can be and that is why we must mask it. Ambition, intelligence, strength - now those are qualities that will get you through this harsh life. But being loving, compassionate, kind? Those are the best ways to get yourself killed." Generations after the Masked Uprising and the fall of StarClan, DarkClan's way of life is no less harsh. Emotions are strictly forbidden and any talk of the Old Life is considered treasonous and punishable by death. It is in this cruel setting that Nightpaw finds himself apprenticed to the only cat with an ounce of freedom: the truth-teller, a cat specifically chosen by the Masked to remember the history of DarkClan. Yet, Nightpaw doubts the truth in the truth-teller's stories and finds them even harder to reconcile when he is visited by someone he'd been taught no longer exists. Caught between fear and curiosity, the truth-teller's apprentice finds himself stuck between two versions of the Clan's history - two truths where there should only be one. And he will stop at nothing until the truth is unmasked. // I have the story rated as teen. Please be warned that there will be a lot of bloodshed and dark matters discussed in this novel.

// Sequel to Unmasked "Are you not listening? We don't have time. The longer we wait the more of our own die. They grow stronger every day - the newest batch of apprentices will be trained in assassination, for StarClan's sake! And if they have the ability to pick us off, one by one, then who will remain to put an end to Dawnstar's reign?" Dewkit knows very little of the rebellion his mother took part in. For him, home is the brick walls and cardboard dens of the alley cat camp; a loving mother, a host of friends, and a just leader. Here, his twisted back leg and crumpled ears are of no significance - until the poison of DarkClan begins to spread closer and closer, endangering this peaceful life and bringing with it the threat of war. Lightpaw trains hard, day and night, to live up to DarkClan's standards - and her mother's and father's. Yet, as Dawnstar's cruelty grows and darkness looms over the Clan, Lightpaw finds herself wondering if the stories she heard from Nightchaser as a kit could have any truth to them. Her thoughts put her at risk, but can she truly live out her days as nothing more than a pawn in Dawnstar's game?

// Sequel to Unmasked and Unmarked "Where is your courage, your strength? Where are your loyalties? Because mine are right here, with the Clan, and I would die fighting for it if necessary." Shademask remembers DarkClan all too well and is still tormented by the things he did under Dawnstar's reign. Though well-respected in the newly formed RockClan, he doubts his own worth and loyalty as a warrior - especially when the dead come to haunt him. Skypaw knows of DarkClan only as an outsider, once a kittypet and now part of the reborn Clans. Her new life in SeaClan is exciting but dangerous, and the comforts of her old home prick at her memory. There are some who would want her back, leading her astray from her new allegiance. Rosekit does not know of DarkClan at all, or the father who refuses to claim her as his own. Constantly overshadowed by her sister, she is not sure where her place in MoorClan is, or if there simply isn't one for her. Promises of safety and belonging may prove hard to reject if offered. Though DarkClan has ceased to exist, its remnants continue to float beneath the surface, threatening to break the bonds being forged. There is a thin line between the darkness and the light, and the making of a new life and stirring up the ashes of the old.

Lightningtail looked up. The herring had parted around her, and she could clearly see the way out of the water. As she was swimming up slowly, something blocked the sunlight above her. Lightningtail almost choked on seawater. There was a dragon unlike any she had ever seen before her. . . . SwiftScales created and owned by OhDearCharlie and ThunderclanWarrior12. Brisktail spun around. His eyes scanned the leafless bushes behind him and he lifted his snout to scent the air. Dragonscent, he thought, catching the smell as the wind blew it to him. Even his keen eyes couldn't pick up the creature until it moved. A dragon emerged from the bushes. It was white with brown markings crisscrossing its scales. A row of long pearly quills ran from its head to its tail, and the dragon ducked its head so as to not catch its pronged horns on the bramble thorns. What's more, was that it barely stood a head taller than a scavenger. "H-hello," Brisktail murmured to the stranger. . . . SwiftScales created and owned by OhDearCharlie and ThunderclanWarrior12. Quickclaws glided to a weak landing, his sore body crashing into the stone. A dark-scaled dragon landed next to him and after Quickclaws wiped the blood out of his eyes he looked up to see Speedscar. His mentor helped him up, Quickclaws making an effort to stand. Speedscar checked him for any major injuries and seemed relieved that he was okay. The dark-scaled dragon lifted his snout to look around the bay. The ice sheet that had been freezing the estuary was broken in places where bodies had fallen through. The ice was stained with spatters of blood. A few bodies littered the cliffs, red and gray alike. Quickclaws' heart skipped a beat when he noticed Lightningtail flying towards him over the battlefield. "We won't survive another attack," Speedscar murmured. Quickclaws looked up in surprise to meet his mentor's worried gaze but Speedscar watched the departing SkyWings with a frown. . . . Being able to manipulate elements is common among the clan cats. ThunderClan have many heavy-defensive earth and poison type cats, RiverClan cats are often the enviable water manipulators, ShadowClan are sharp offensive fire types, and WindClan swift air manipulators. The Clans prospered with tense peacefulness, and they grew in great number, several new rare manipulation types even popped up, like ice and wood. Then it happened. ThunderClan attacked. With the realization that RiverClan, the largest of the Clans, held the advantage of water being stronger than their earth and poison, they slaughtered over half of RiverClan in a night relentless battle. Smokepaw was known as the RiverClan prodigy, greatly skilled in fighting with her water abilities. Now she's known as just another one of the RiverClan survivors staying in ShadowClan. Smokepaw isn't dumb though. She knows ThunderClan wants her dead. Whether or not she goes down with a fight, she isn't actually sure. // warning: contains graphic description of violence, blood, wounds, and gore; dark themes; graphic death. lgbtq+ characters and relationships very prominent updates, for the most part, once a week. see my s/mb for news on how it's coming along. start: sep 3, 2017 finish:
