The two volleyball players, Shoyo Hinata and Tobio Kageyama, are great together on the court. But out of school, they don't really talk to each other. In order to get closer to one another, Suga and Dachi arrange several after school activities and hangout sessions with all the members on the Kurasuno volleyball club for some team bonding.

Hinata and the rest of the team are playing in a big volleyball tournament. They are almost to the finals when something happens to Hinata during one of the games which starts to worry Kageyama. Kageyama and the team manages to make it to the finals without Hinata. The other school that the Karasuno High School Volleyball team are going against, they NEED Hinata. Without him, they will end up losing. Sure losing isn't a big deal for how far they made it in the tournament, but everyone wanted to take the volleyball trophy home fir their school. Hinata and the team have a few bumps in the road, followed by some drama and romance, while getting ready for the finals.
