A sequel to my first book "The sweetest pain". I recommed to read it first or you won't understand fully. Wednesday Addams (20) had made the hardest decision in her life. With it came the consequences and she's learning how to survive in her new, cruel reality. Xavier Thorpe (20), who had long been a poison in her life, had achieved his goal. But it turns out that even a devilishly good plan fails when life decides to surprise. Meanwhile, Tyler (21) not only barely survived the tragic accident and has a father with progressing cancer but also the love of his life abandoned him at the most difficult moment - for his greatest enemy. He's mourning, completely unaware of the secret of his would-be fiancée, who suffers every day just to keep him alive. Wednesday and Tyler had been through a lot in their four-year relationship, but now they find themselves at a dead end. Their love has been so strong it was terrifying. Pain and suffering were an inseparable part of it, and now they're both paying a terrible price. Can this story ever have a happy ending?

"No respect for the dead." His words came out in silent whispers, his teeth clenched. A small smile tugged on her lips. "Respect is earned in life, my lord. When a man fails to earn respect in life, it cannot suddenly be bestowed on him simply because he returned to the dust whence he came." "At the very least, Lady Atkins, pretend," he admonished. "Pretend to mourn for your husband! You are a woman in mourning! Grief, sadness, decency is expected of you," he growled, stepping so close to her, his nose almost kissed hers. "Not a low-cut, salacious red dress!" She inched forward, jaw set, until she could feel his warm breath on her skin. "And you are a man whose cousin's widow was only a few minutes ago caught with a man on top of her," she shot back, leaning further in until her lips were nearly brushing his as she searched his gaze. "Anger, rage, fury, is expected of you, my lord... Not jealousy!" * Newly widowed, the sudden death of Beatrice's husband has brought about her freedom from the shackles of a loveless marriage... Or so she thinks. All hope is quickly lost when she discovers her husband's cruelty in disinheriting her and leaving her penniless. But worse than his decision to disinherit her, is his decision to leave her at the mercy of his cousin; Noah, the very handsome Marquess of Camden. TW: This story contains mentions of suicide. Sophia has sacrificed everything for her younger sister, Lucy. She has removed them from the only home they ever knew, taken on the care of Lucy's illegitimate son, George, and even assumed the role of a widow and mother in order to erase all hint of scandal from the boy's birth. But rumor continues to follow them like the darkest of clouds, and Sophia must adapt to her new existence as a false widow with no prospects beyond the doors of her small cottage. Lord Haughton - "Finn" to those close to him - will stop at nothing to prevent the slightest whiff of disgrace from tainting his family's name. When he learns of his younger brother's latest indiscretion-one that leaves a bastard child in his wake-Haughton rushes across the country to offer the boy's mother a comfortable living in exchange for her silence about the child's true parentage. But he arrives only to have his generous offer thrown back in his face by Sophia Brixton, a sharp-tongued and sharper-witted woman who proceeds to toss him out of her house. But just because he is banished from her home does not mean he is so easily banished from her life.

In the autumn of 1916, deep in rural Ontario, Clara DuBois, a young Black woman, spends her days tending to her aunt's modest farm and working as a nurse's aide at a military hospital overflowing with wounded soldiers. She keeps her head down, works hard, and knows better than to expect kindness from a world that has rarely offered it. Still, she finds purpose in her care-until a single encounter shatters the ground she's built her life on. When Lieutenant Edward Whitcombe, a well-born, sharp-tongued soldier from a wealthy Toronto family, is brought in with a shattered leg and a sharper temper, Clara is assigned to tend to his wounds. What begins as a clash of class, race, and stubborn wills slowly softens into something neither of them expected: understanding. And, perhaps, something even deeper. But as rumours stir and the shadow of separation looms ever larger, Clara and Edward must decide whether the emotions between them is strong enough to endure the forces determined to tear them apart.

"Even a king must kneel when a flower chooses to bloom." Set after the opening events of The Shadow Kingdom, this intimate bridge volume follows Crown Prince Aryavarnan during his years in Lanka, long before his storm of return to Indrathara. The tale unfolds under the golden sun and monsoon rains of the southern isle - where the ocean hums with secrets, and destiny sprouts from the soil of the ordinary. Amidst diplomatic missions and quiet exile, Aryavarnan finds himself drawn to the palace gardens - the one place where politics cannot follow him. It is there he meets Nandini, the gentle gardener with hands calloused by earth yet eyes as unyielding as fire. Her laughter unsettles him, her silence disciplines him, and her truth teaches him more about rule and rebellion than any council ever could. What begins as fascination becomes devotion - a love that challenges the order of blood, crown, and caste. Over two years and ten months, Aryavarnan defies every restraint laid upon a royal heir. He hides his growing affection under the guise of duty, fights court whispers, and resists orders from Indrathara demanding his return. Nandini, unaware of the scale of his sacrifice, becomes his solace and storm alike - the flower that makes the king question his crown. But fate never waits kindly. The serenity of Lanka is shattered one dusk when Aryavarnan receives news that Prince Raghunath - his youngest brother - has vanished under mysterious circumstances near the northern frontier. Without a word to the Lankan council or even to Nandini, Aryavarnan moves ships and Sails towards Indrathara He rides through storm and sea, his cloak heavy with rain and grief - a raging tempest returning home. And so ends King and the Flower - with the roar of thunder over Indrathara's coasts, and the first glimpse of a man who will soon defy an empire for love, loyalty, and bloodline alike.
