Despues de 1000 años, despues de que las maquinas asesinaran a un 93% de los humanos de tal formas macabras y desconocidas, causa la huída de el resto a la luna, donde lleva a cabo el inicio de YorHa, un cuerpo de androides encargados de eliminar a las maquinas de la tierra para poder habitarla de vuelta pero cuando llegan a la tierra, veran que las maquinas han evolucionado, y se han vuelto mas peligrosas de lo que eran hace 1000 años.
