In November 2014, shortly after her university's quadrennial Halloween program, a third-year architecture student identified as Eurlla Marie Ignacio was found in the middle of a constrained forest, barely alive outside an unclassified graveyard's mausoleum, rumored to be haunted. After a week of investigation, police disclosed Eurlla's case, hypothesizing it to be linked to a fraternity initiation that occurred during the recent Halloween event, organized by students infamously known as "The Nightmares." Students who attended that year's Halloween program testified that Eurlla participated in a sub-event called "The Nightmare Presents: Trick or Ticket." This was said to be the first event of Halloween night, where the chosen participant was dared to go to an abandoned graveyard a few kilometers from school and perform a task. "Light a candle to the first cross your eyes can see and wait for the fire to consume the candle's body. And you are free." In the previous year of the event, the last participant died by suicide two weeks after the event. Many believed that it was caused by paranormal activities, but the rumor was denied by the university. Students continued the Halloween program, thinking that it was just a coincidence.
