He is running around trying to determine whether or not his arch-nemesis will actually pay enough attention to him to actually try and thwart all of his evil plans. His goal in life: to rule the world, obviously. Bleddyn Bird (AKA the mysterious Erebus) is a super-hero, also struggling. While Doctor Nihilistical is running around, Bleddyn is trying to get through graduate school and is barely able to function with the amount of sleep he is getting each night. Both are trying to figure out what they need to do in order to survive, and it's getting to the point where they can't get out of each others' heads long enough to realize what is actually important in life.

Von einem Tag auf den anderen stellte sich ihr Leben komplett auf den Kopf und der Mann, den sie eigentlich nie wieder sehen wollte und den sie ihren Vater nennen konnte, war der Grund dafür. Ihr kühler, desinteressierter Nachbar, der noch nie wirklich mit ihr gesprochen hatte und der auf ihre Highschool ging, entlarvte sich als geheimen Beschützer, der von ihrem Vater engagiert wurde, um sie stets zu beschützen. An einem Tag erfuhr sie alles. Ihr kühler, desinteressierter Nachbar war kein gewöhnlicher Highschool-Schüler, ihr Vater kein gewöhnlicher Geschäftsmann und sie keine gewöhnliche 17jährige. Noch nicht einmal ihr Nachname war echt. Denn in Wirklichkeit hieß sie Ava Santiago und war die Tochter des berühmten, gefährlichen Mafia-Anführers; Elian Santiago. Deswegen musste sie nun ihr altes, stinknormales Leben zurücklassen und komplett von vorne beginnen. Sie sah sich gezwungen mit dem Mann unter einem Dach zu wohnen, den sie zuletzt mit 8 sah und der keinen Platz in ihrem Herzen verdiente. Zudem wurde sie auch noch auf eine sehr merkwürdige, von Kriminellen übersäte, elitäre Schule geschickt, die nach ganz anderen Regeln funktionierte, als eine gewöhnliche Highschool. Die einzige Person, die ihr nicht fremd war und die sie wenigstens einigermaßen kannte, war ihr kühler, strenger Nachbar, der weiterhin als persönlicher Beschützer an ihrer Seite blieb.☽
