After the musical zombie apocalypse ( apotheosis ), Emma Perkins ( a barista from Hachetfield, and the only survivor of the apocalypse ) is captured, by her former crush who is not infected! ( zombies ), Paul. Emma believes that soon her life will be over and that she too will be infected! soon. But, she discovers that Paul's case of apotheosis is different than the others, and is leading a rebellion to try to destroy the hive, and find a cure for the infected.
