Unfortunately, one of those tests failed miserably, and now Tom is stuck with a horrid demon in his body, one that only activates if he is afraid. Not being afraid is hard, especially for him. Even though he's gotten better at controlling his fears, he worries for Edd and Matt when they fight. He knows it's because of him. Edd has been more abusive and furious with Tom with each passing day. And it's hard not being afraid when Tord joins the picture. As his childhood bully, it isn't hard to not have fears about him.
