⚜Some secrets are better hidden.⚜ ********************************************************** After a lifetime of moving, Imani's parents have promised her this is the last. She would be relieved, but they've moved to no-where USA. A town named Evansville; isolated, boring and population: tiny. In a place so small, her last two years of high should be easy and unremarkable. But as things start and continue to go wrong, Imani soon realizes there's more to Evansville that meets the eye. And it's ugly. When you're trapped in a tiny town, boxed in from all sides and under constant surveillance what do you do? Buckle under the pressure? Or become just as twisted at those around you? ************************************************************* "Yeah, I just love being locked inside all day, not allowed to see my parents and wondering if I will ever get to leave this godforsaken town again. Honestly, what the fuck do I have to be grateful for!" My hands shook with anger. "Put down the gun," he commanded. "If you don't let me go, I'm going to kill you." My grip on the gun trembled, but I tried my best to keep it steady. "I swear, I won't hesitate to shoot you." His voice was chilling. "Are you nervous?" "No, though you should be." "Shoot me then Imani." His eyes were still a calm sea blue. This was all him. "Don't go back on your promise."

Imani is free. Hidden in the confines of a large city with the two witches she escaped with, she hasn't seen trouble in four years. Life is normal. She goes to school, has a boyfriend and dreams of the day when she can stop looking over her shoulder all the time, (if it ever comes). Four years later, constant worry still eats at her as she can't help thinking about the day that he might show up at her front doorstep. Jonah is winning. Battle after battle, front after front, his army is pushing forward, winning, taking towns and cities without anyone even knowing what was happening. There hadn't been a true Werewolf king in thousands of years, but he would be the one to unite all the packs and claim the land as his own. There only remained one problem. His queen was still missing and the push to grab the land past the Mississipi has been slow. But he won't stop, not until there's a crown on his head and his mate by his side.
