Gerard Way, a French artist, is returning to his hometown in the States for the sudden funeral of his late father. Because of relationship issues, he won't be staying with his family. But the Ieros next door are fully welcoming of him staying in newly renovated basement until he returns to France. Little does Gerard know, Mrs. Iero wants him to meet and fall in love with Lindsey, the "perfect cousin" of the family. The unholy union of a high school AU and a ghost story. Gerard's life takes a strange turn when his family moves to a small town in Vermont and he discovers the locals aren't all what they seem to be. Also includes: unexpected nature walks, murder, pining, improper treatment of crime scenes, a number of bone-related puns, high school bullies, and a short-range shrub named Ferdinand. First: some extra warnings - This contains violence, homophobia, character death (but the character's still there--there's a fair amount of delving into the subject of death and dying, though, so be aware of that.) It all starts when his new neighbors move in. Frank didn't know it was possible to hate two people so much, but they don't leave him alone! He'd do anything to get them to stop bothering him, which is why he makes a bet with Brendon. It's the neighbors that lead him to the bet, but it's the bet that leads him to Gerard. Gerard is a talented magician, responsible for much of the success of the famous Envision Destiny cruise ship. He's also one of those people. You know, one of those people who just seem to take up all the space they come across with their arrogance and confidence. You wouldn't wanna touch their personality with a 10-foot pole, but still people admire them. That is beyond Frank. Working behind the cruise ship bars and seeing Gerard pretty much every day, he can't understand what's so great about him. Besides, everybody else doesn't have to deal with his snide remarks and rude comments. Because if there's one thing Gerard seems to love, it's the act of constantly pestering Frank.
