The original idea belongs to the creator of Fruits Basket. I believe that those of you who have only watched the anime, should have the chance to understand the full story behind the curse, and not just the fake fantacy used in Chinese folklore, which is told by 2 members of the Honda family (Kiyoko, & Tohru).
