What started off as friendly competition turned into rivalry as she and Oliver Wood made it their sole mission to have their teams beat each other every year. Oliver wants to win for the sake of winning, but Melanie wants to win just to see the frustrated look on Oliver's face because it's just so damn cute. It seemed that just about everyday, he was in for a visit due to small accidents in the maze. But, as time progresses, and with Thomas' arrival, things begin to change around the Glade. With Ben's death, no one is eager to get out into the maze aside from Thomas. Though, through a little convincing, Alby manages to persuade the Glades only girl to step foot in the maze despite Minho's protest. All characters, world/setting and other parts of story related to The Maze Runner belong to James Dashner.
