1918, Russia. The Bolshevik revolution has succeeded in overthrowing the Romanov family as the kings of Russia. The royal family is dead, executed late in the night, securing the Bolshevik's hold on the country. With no Romanovs to challenge them, the country has gone to the Communists. Or has it? St. Petersburg, 1922. Anastasia Romanov, the last surviving Romanov, lived through the night that killed her family. And now, she's gaining her revenge: with the help of loyalist troops, she's taking over the country and restoring herself to the throne. And she sweeps Sasha Kozlov, a sharpshooter in the Red Army, right into it after taking St. Petersburg and giving him a choice: join her and betray the things he stands for, or be executed. "Gleb Vaganov had seen his life flow quiet, indigestible at times, but without any significat ripple. And then, she had appeared." A fan fiction inspired by the new Broadway musical "Anastasia", in which it's the Bolshevik soldier Gleb Vaganov telling his version of the story. *WARNING: this is a retelling. Many events have been obviously novelized and adapted, so I humbly ask forgiveness of those who have different ideas or ship different characters. Also, I ask forgiveness of all my partners history lovers, who will certainly find some inconsistencies.* ^ translation to Insieme a Parigi ^ 28.06.2018 --> 01.01.2019

Anastasia Nikolaevna Romanov should have been dead. Dead with the rest of her family - the Tsar's family. Royalty and aristocracy no longer had a place in a country that now belonged to the people; it was the dawn of a new age. But she was not dead. Hiding from the outside world, the young princess was alone in her journey to escape the past. Though titleless, the royal blood flowing through her veins could not be denied. She was grand duchess Anastasia of house Romanov - the last of Russia's royalty. She was the lost heir to the Russian throne. --- Rumors of the survival of the Tsar's youngest daughter are being whispered from left to right. It's the legend, the mystery! Needless to say, it's something the revolutionists aren't too pleased with. Join Anastasia as she struggles to escape who she once was... and survive the new regime's hunt. --- "What, pray tell, are you running from?" "My past." --- [ A/N ] Hello! I'm Anastasia (no, really) and uh, well, this is my first story that isn't a one-shot and uh........ I wrote this after developing a fascination towards monarchies and well, the demise of the Romanov family, following the Bolshevik revolution of 1917. Also, I've got a "thing" for the Broadway musical 'Anastasia' and the idea to write a sort of mirror to it was rather appealing, so here you go, I guess. Now, updates.... I'm 15, and a freshman. Needless to say, it's going to take a looooooooong time for me to complete this story. Like, a long, LONG time. Yeet. Sorry. Oh, oh, oh! Not to mention, this is the FIRST draft of the story, so there will most definitely be some rewriting going on when it reaches its later stages and of course, the good ol' editing.
