Anxiety is the root of many fears, but sometimes it can be our bodies telling us what's really out there. When life gives you lemons, you never know what you're going to get. You may have a light tap on the shoulder from a ghost or two... maybe a whisper against your ear, or just an ominous weight across your shoulders that disappears when you turn to see what's there.. You may get dragged through darkness into a whole other world. Interesting how that works.

I should have wore my seatbelt that day. I knew I should have. You know that small voice in the back of your head nagging you to do something? That annoyingly but always right voice that puts pits of guilt in your mind if you don't do what it says? It told me to put my seatbelt on but of course, like always I didn't listen to it... But, I should have. As I watch the tear stained cheeks of everyone that I care about and even some I don't, bury my now lifeless body, I regret it more then ever... Except him. He knows. He can see me. And he is determined more then ever to save me. He wants me to find peace. He even demands it, he wants to make me face my inner demons. After all, he is the very reason I was in the car in the first place. Francesca Atles always thought that the world owed her something. She was desperately searching for something to mean something to her, for her life to matter. After her mothers horrific departure from life, Frannie was convinced that she had completely lost everything; until she really does lose everything. Fighting to stay apart of this life and the next, she must overcome the compelling hold the other side has on her and the consequential destructive bond she has with the boy still alive.

"I'm trying to complete my moms summer list from when she was in high school," I explain, and Ace snatches the paper out of my hand. I reach for it, but he holds it high above his head so I can't. I huff and cross my arms. His eyes scan the page and his lips purse. "Dev, everything on here is lame. Nothing requires actual adventure," he says, and I scoff. "What do you propose I do about that?" I snap, my lips curved into a smirk. Ace sighs and hands me back the paper. "I'll complete this list with you so aren't the loser doing it by yourself." He then comes closer to me so our faces are only inches apart and he continues, his voice husky. "But only if I get to pick what we do first."
