Long ago, great beasts roamed the land of Liquet, warring against each other. Of the original twelve, only one proved to be the greatest among them; the humans. But the humans, in all their wisdom, were fools and did many things to anger the gods. For that, many have been cursed to become something inhuman. Or at least, that is what Crispin has always been told for as long as he can remember. Everyone knows that inhumans were just made up to scare children into being good. Until one fateful spring night, when beast-like men attack a nearby village, and many strange things begin stirring across the continent. As everyone tries to keep their secrets, Abigail uncovers more and more of the darkness that dwells within their hearts. She attempts to untangle the mess of lies that was created, and she finds herself trying to survive at the hands of deadly enemies.
