When it comes to transplants, the loss of one life enables the saving of another but what happens when the two lives become so entwined that neither can exist without the other? Luke believes he has been granted a miracle when he is accepted to be the first human allowed a partial brain transplant after he is diagnosed with a tumor but the mind never feels like his own. He begins dreaming of people he's never known in situations he has never been in and feels certain it is related to the life of the person that saved his. Are they simply dreams or are they memories of another reality and will Luke be able to find out in time to save his own life and sanity?
